If the idea of posing for wedding photos makes you cringe, you’re not alone. Not everyone loves being in front of the camera, and that’s totally okay! The good news? You don’t need to be a model to get stunning, natural wedding photos—you just need the right approach (and a photographer who gets you!).

I’ve worked with plenty of couples who weren’t necessarily camera-shy, but they definitely felt awkward or unnatural in front of the lens. Over time, I’ve developed a fun, relaxed way to make couples feel at ease, ditch the stiff poses, and actually enjoy their photo session. Here’s how!

No Stiff, Awkward Posing – Just Fun, Natural Moments

I used to follow the traditional "long, posed photo session" method, but I quickly realized that it just doesn’t work for most couples. Instead, I changed my strategy:

✅ First, a little liquid courage! If my couples drink, I buy them their first shot. It helps ease the nerves and set the tone for a fun, relaxed session.

✅ No audience, no pressure. I take my couples away from the guests—because let’s be real, being watched while taking photos can feel super awkward!

✅ Directed, not posed. Instead of forcing stiff, unnatural poses, I give fun, playful prompts that create real moments.

Prompts That Make You Forget About the Camera

I don’t just tell you to “stand there and smile” (because, ugh, that’s awkward). Instead, I use quirky, unexpected prompts that bring out real emotions.

For example:

👉 “Let’s jog... but like an 80-year-old!” (Cue slow, careful, and hilarious movement)

👉 “Hold hands and walk like a 5-year-old running home from school.” (Because that’s pure, playful joy!)

👉 “Now, whisper your favorite vegetable in a sexy way.” (Seriously, try saying ‘broccoli’ seductively—instant laughter guaranteed.)

The goal? To make you forget you’re ‘posing’ and just have fun.

Pre-Wedding Calls – Because Feeling Comfortable Starts Before the Big Day

Before the wedding, I always hop on a call with my couples. Why? Because putting a face to a name and getting to know each other ahead of time makes all the difference.

During these calls, I:

✅ Learn about your story and wedding plans.

✅ Explain how we can create natural moments instead of forced ones.

✅ Make sure you feel in control of how the day flows.

By the time your wedding day arrives, it won’t feel like a stranger with a camera—it’ll feel like a friend capturing your day.

My Photography Style – Relaxed, Fun, and a Bit Traditional

My approach is all about keeping things authentic and stress-free, but I also believe in capturing those timeless, traditional moments—like family photos.

Think about it:

📸 Everyone is dressed up, in one place, and celebrating YOU.

📸 These are photos you (and your family) will cherish forever.

📸 So yes, we’ll capture those beautiful, classic family shots—but in a way that feels easy and natural.

A Bespoke Approach – Because No Two Weddings (or Couples) Are the Same

One thing I’ve learned? Every couple is different, and treating all weddings the same way would be a mistake.

✨ Some couples want quiet, intimate moments captured.

✨ Others want laughter-filled, energetic photos.

✨ Some want a mix of both!

That’s why my approach is fully tailored to you—because your wedding isn’t just another job for me, it’s a party I get to be part of!
